AN attacker has appeared in court for assault.

Jason McDaid, 37, of Canal Walk, Portsmouth, admitted assaulting Nazir Ahmed in Fratton Road, Fratton, on March 5.

He was told to pay £200 compensation to his victim and £50 costs by Fareham magistrates.

McDaid was told to take part in a Thinking Skills programme for 20 sessions and will be under supervision for 18 months.
