A THUG left a man with a broken nose in a vicious attack.

The 44-year-old victim was walking home when he was set upon opposite the Electric Arms pub in Fratton Road, Fratton.

He suffered a broken nose and cuts to his upper lip which needed stitches. He had swelling and grazes to his forehead and was knocked unconscious.

The attack happened between 11.40pm and midnight on June 2. Police have only just released details. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.

Investigating officer PC Michael Nol said: ‘The attack occurred in a built-up area at a time when there were still lots of people in the street who may have witnessed what happened. Other enquiries in the local community are also continuing.’

The attacker is white, 5ft 8in tall, of a stocky build with brown hair. He wore a white t-shirt with the number 10 on the back and blue jeans. Call PC Nol on 101 at Cosham station with information.
