A THIEF walked into a barber shop and stole a jacket containing £3,000 cash and jewellery.

The 42-year-old victim was having his hair cut at Jim’s Barber Shop, in South Street, Havant, when a young man walked in off the street, picked up the man’s coat from a sofa and ran off.

Barber Jim Doye and two others chased him but the thief was too fast.

He ran off towards Juniper Square.

The suspect, who struck at 11am on April 26, was a white man wearing a white hooded top.

PC Jo Lockton said: ‘South Street is in a busy part of town so we are hoping that somebody may have seen the offender running away, and can provide us with more information.’
