TWO baseball bat-wielding robbers forced a man to hand over his bike before chasing after three other cyclists.

The 28-year-old victim was threatened by the pair with the metal bats as they emerged from bushes under the bridge under Rowner Road, Gosport.

The man, who was heading towards Gosport Leisure Centre, was told to empty his pockets but he did not have anything else on him.

Shortly after he handed over his bike, three cyclists rode past and the robbers chased after them.

The victim was able to retrieve his bike and flee.

Hampshire police said it happened at about 8.35pm to 8.45pm on Thursday.

Both men had aluminium bats and one was wrapped in cling film.

The first suspect was white, around 18, 5ft 6in tall, skinny and was wearing a navy blue tracksuit, with Adidas bottoms, white trainers and a hat.

The second was also white, around 22, 6ft tall, and was medium build with a gaunt face and a very thin nose.

He was wearing a light-grey tracksuit and a grey woolly hat, with a red stripe around it.
