RESIDENTS in Portsmouth are being urged not to answer their door to con artists following reports of suspicious activity.

ADP Security Systems, which has offices in the city, received calls from two residents who said they spotted people pretending to be employees of the firm yesterday.

The con artists were seen calling at people’s homes and offering to sell alarms to them in return for a deposit of £49.

A spokeswoman for the firm said: ‘Please do not give money to these people, or let them into your home. Our employees never knock on people’s doors looking to sell products.’
