A MOTORIST caught drink-driving while more than twice the legal alcohol limit has been banned from getting behind the wheel.

Nicholas Harman, from Oak Road, Bishop’s Waltham, pleaded guilty to committing the offence while driving a Land Rover Discovery in Winchester Road, Waltham Chase.

A test revealed the 30-year-old’s breath contained 93 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres – more than twice the legal alcohol limit of 35mg.

Harman was fined £280. He was also ordered to pay £28 to a fund for victims of crime and £85 in court costs by Fareham magistrates.

And he was banned from driving for three years.

He pleaded guilty to driving the vehicle without insurance but magistrates decided they would impose no separate penalty.
