HALF a dozen UK Border Agency officers are interviewing stall holders at The Bridge Shopping Centre, in Fratton.

They arrived just after 1pm and cordoned off two stalls.

A shop worker, who did not want to be named, said: ‘I went out for my lunch at about 1pm and saw it all happening.

‘Three of the officers were talking to a man who runs a stall. When I looked again about an hour later his stall was all shut up and he and the officers were gone.’

The eye witeness said the officers then started interviewing a woman on another stall.

There was no immediate comment from the UK Border Agency.
