AN 11-year-old boy was assaulted by a couple in Havant.

The victim was in Middle Park Way when a man and woman who masked their faces with scarves grabbed him.

He struggled with the pair for about a minute before they fled towards Overton Crescent and Sunwood Road at about 7.30pm on Tuesday.

The victim ran home and his family called police. Officers stressed it was not an attempted abduction.

Detective Constable Lucia Davies said: ‘This appears to be an isolated incident.

‘Understandably the victim was left shaken and upset and is receiving support from his family.’

Police informed staff at nearby Park Community School about the incident but would not confirm whether the victim is a pupil there.
