Boy fends off attacker

A teenage boy managed to fight off an attacker who attempted to snatch his mobile phone.

Police have revealed that the 15-year-old boy was walking home in Fishbourne Road East, Chichester, at around 3.50pm on Wednesday, March 1, when he was attacked by a man at a point next to the new green bridge over the railway line, police said.

The man demanded the boy’s mobile and pushed him into a fence, but in the ensuing struggle the boy hit his attacker in the face, and the attacker fled empty handed, according to police.
