A BOY was attacked by a gang of men during a terrifying ordeal in Leigh Park.

The 16-year-old was walking along Middle Park Way, near to the junction of Winterslow Drive, when a group of men got out of a blue Ford Focus.

The boy was assaulted by the group until he managed to break free and run off.

The men drove off in the car.

The boy was later treated for scratches and bruising to the ribs and face at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.

Investigating officer PC Peter Eggins said: ‘This was a completely unprovoked attack on an innocent young boy, if you were in the area at the time and saw or heard anything suspicious please contact police as soon as possible.’

The attack happened between 9.30pm and 9.50pm on Thursday, October 31, although details have just been released by police.

The boy managed to get a description of one of the attackers.

He was described as a black man, aged in his 20s, about 5ft 10in to 5ft 11in tall, clean shaven, and of stocky build.

He was wearing a black hoody and black trousers.

Anyone with information should call PC Eggins on 101.
