A MOTHER and her child were left terrified when thugs broke down her front door.

The mum, aged 26, and her young child had been in their home in Locksway Road, Southsea, when the offenders knocked at the door.

When there was no response the pair forced the door open and barged in.

Police Constable Ross Hanley, of Southsea police station, said: ‘This incident took place during the middle of the day on a very busy road.

‘It is believed two young men in their late teens, knocked on the door four times before forcing the door open.

‘As they entered, the victim called down, disturbing them, and they ran off before anything could be stolen.

‘The victim was then too scared to check her house, she took her young child and ran out of the house until the police arrived.’

The incident took place on Monday, November 21, at 12.40pm.
