BURGLARS broke into a home while a woman slept.

Hampshire police said the woman was upstairs asleep in her Saville Close home in Alverstoke, Gosport.

The raiders smashed a window panel on a back door after getting into the garden through an unlocked gate.

It happened last Wednesday overnight. Police have just released details.

A laptop, iPad and handbag were taken.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Dermot McBride said: ‘We’re keen to hear from anyone who may have heard or seen anyone acting suspiciously. Maybe you live in the road and have home CCTV.

‘Please remember to keep your home secure, keep rear garden gates locked and keep your house and car keys safe and not left where they can easily be reached.’
