A WOMAN has avoided jail after burgling a house when the homeowner was still inside.

Tammie Cossey pleaded guilty at Portsmouth Crown Court to breaking into a home in Bridge Road, Park Gate, near Fareham.

Police were called out on October 22 last year and a deep-fat fryer, tree loppers, clothes and a slow cooker were found in Cossey’s car.

The 41-year-old, of Lewins Walk, Bursledon, received a one-year jail sentence, suspended for 18 months. She must do 150 hours of unpaid work.
