Suspected arson incident in Waterlooville causes £50,000 of damage

BURGLARS who stole jewellery and computer games in a break-in are being hunted by police.

Thieves fled with a gold belcher chain, a silver charm bracelet, a Nintendo Wii games console and two games in the burglary, which happened at a ground-floor flat in Webb Road, Portchester.

The crooks also stole 10 Sony Playstation games and an Alba TV.

Police, who released details of the burglary last night, say the break-in happened between 1pm on Wednesday and 7pm on Sunday.

Detective Constable Gemma Hunter is investigating. She said: ‘Police are appealing for witnesses to this burglary in Portchester.

‘Did you see anything suspicious, anyone out of place or paying particular interest to the flats in Webb Road?’

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact Det Con Hunter at Fareham police station on 101.
