BURGLARS sneaked into a family home through the back door before stealing expensive items and a car.

The thieves broke into the house in Castle Street, Portchester through the back of the property.

They made off with champagne, electrical items, car keys and took an Audi TT from the drive.

The incident happened between 9.40pm and midnight on Saturday.

PCSO Hollie Cartwright reminded people to be vigilant.

She said: ‘We ask that everyone remain vigilant to such opportunistic crimes and ensure that you keep your property secure at all times, whether you are in your property or not.’

Police are investigating the burglary.
