JEWELLERY worth £30,000 was stolen during a break-in.

Burglars forced their way into the home in Highlands Road, Fareham, by kicking in the panels of a back door on Wednesday between midday and 1.15pm.

The crooks ransacked every room, ripping a safe from the wall inside an upstairs cupboard.

The jewellery in the safe included numerous rings, necklaces, watches, bangles, earrings and pendants.

They also took an XBox 360, an Acer laptop, Nintendo Wii console and personal documents.

Detective Constable Chris Davies said: ‘This is a high-value burglary that has understandably left the victims very upset.

‘If you saw anyone acting suspiciously around the area at the time of the incident, please come forward as soon as possible. Highlands Road is a busy one, so there is a good chance the offenders may have been seen.’

Anyone with information should contact Fareham CID on 101 or use Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
