A MAN was arrested following a burglary in which goods worth hundreds of pounds were stolen while the occupants slept.

The victims awoke to discover their home in Craneswater Avenue, Southsea, had been broken into through the kitchen door.

A mountain bike, 10 bottles of wine, a laptop and dark brown leather satchel containing a pink purse, £150 cash, cards, a driving licence and make-up were stolen.

A £450 Sony camera with family photographs was also taken between 3.50am and 4.20am on November 10.

PC Alex Saccoccio said: ‘The stolen camera is of great sentimental value to the homeowner. It contained a large number of family photographs which cannot be replaced.

‘We would appeal to anyone who may be able to assist in locating the camera, or has information about the person or people responsible to contact us.’

A 30-year-old Southsea man arrested in connection with the burglary was later bailed.
