THOUSANDS of pounds worth of jewellery was stolen during a break-in.

The burglary happened at a house in Southwick Lane, North Boarhunt, between 2.30pm and 5.15pm on Monday, March 10, while the owners were out, police said yesterday.

The thieves smashed their way through a window before taking around £6,000 worth of jewellery. Included in the haul were two gold bangles worth more than £1,000 each.
