A PRECIOUS wedding ring and other valuables were stolen during a raid on a house in Waterlooville.

Crooks broke into the home in Stakes Hill Road through an unlocked upstairs window. They ransacked the property and made off with a large haul, including two laptops worth £800, a gold necklace with a turquoise pendant in an oval shape, as well as £5 cash.

The burglars also took a gold wedding ring belonging to the house owner’s mother.

The burglary happened between 2pm and 9pm last Saturday but police have only just released details.

PC Tim Durham, from Waterlooville police, said: ‘This incident took place off a busy main road.

‘There will have been lots of cars and people about during this time who may have seen someone acting suspiciously. This incident has caused a great deal of stress to the family and the jewellery taken was of great sentimental value to them.’

Anyone who can help should call police on 101.
