A STRETCH of a busy city centre road is to be shut for two consecutive weekends as part of new community facilities for Somers Town.

Diversions will be in place while the stretch between Isambard Brunel Road and Bradford Junction is shut to allow work on the Somerstown Central building, which spans the dual carriageway.

The stretch will be shut to pedestrians and all traffic between 1am on November 15 to 6am on November 18 and 1am on December 7 to 6am on December 9.

The council is advising road users to allow extra travel time during the periods.
