Car crash in Fareham causes havoc in road

A WOMAN was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a car crashed and wrote off two parked vehicles.

The crash happened at around 9pm on Thursday on Wickham Road, Fareham.

Shocked neighbours described how they heard a loud bang and came out of their houses to find a Toyota Aygo had flipped over.

The car contained two people. The 24-year-old female driver was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

She was bailed until May 16, pending further enquiries.

A male passenger, who had not been wearing a seatbelt and was badly injured, was taken to hospital.

Both the man and the woman suffered injuries, which were not life-threatening.

Extensive damage was caused to two other parked cars and minor damage to another.
