BURGLARS stole a car from outside a house after taking the owner’s car keys.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the theft in Gosport.

Somebody got into a house in Harding Road through an unlocked door. They took a purse, mobile phone and car keys. The victim’s grey 2004-registered Nissan Almera was then driven away from the road outside at 2am on Monday, August 27.

A men’s dark green Cannondale mountain bike was in the back seat of the stolen car.

Police staff investigator Jane Dye said: ‘I would like to hear from anyone with information about this incident.

‘Did you see any suspicious activity in the area at the time of the incident?

‘A men’s dark green mountain bike was in the back of the car. Have you been offered this bike for sale or know of its whereabouts?’

Anyone with information should call police staff investigator Dye from the Gosport Priority Crime Unit on 101.
