A TEENAGER who was banned from driving when he stole a car and crashed it is facing jail.

Phillip Harfield took the Ford Focus from Holbury Court in Havant.

The 18-year-old had already been disqualified from driving for a previous motoring offence.

Harfield, of Brockenhurst Avenue, Havant, initially denied the offence.

He was due to stand trial but he pleaded guilty to taking a vehicle without consent and driving while disqualified when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

Harfield was released on bail until later this month.

The magistrates warned him all sentencing options would be considered, including custody.
