Police want to speak to this man after cash and credit cards were stolen from a car in Southsea.

Officers have today issued a CCTV image of a man in connection with the theft in Victoria Grove, Southsea.

The window of a Renault Clio was smashed in order for someone to steal a handbag from the front seat.

It contained cash and credit cards, and an attempt was made to use one of the cards at a cash machine in Albert Road shortly after the theft.

It happened at around 10pm on July 14.

The man who attempted to withdraw the cash is described as white, around 6ft tall, with a slim build.

He had short dark hair, and wore a T-shirt with ‘Detroit’ written on it.

Anyone who recognises the man from the description or the CCTV image should call PC Gary Morgan at Fratton police station on 101.
