A 92-year-old woman had her bag, purse and £200 cash stolen from her trolley while she was shopping in Iceland.

Police have now issued CCTV of a man they want to talk to in connection with the theft that took place in West Street, Fareham at 1.30pm on Tuesday, April 9.

It is believed the man boarded a bus for Southampton after leaving the store.

Investigating officer PC Dave Lynn of Fareham District CID said: ‘This crime has left a vulnerable member of our community shaken and visibly upset. Family members are trying to reassure her as she is now worried about leaving her home.

‘I would also like to take this opportunity to remind shoppers to please be aware not to leave your bag unattended at any time.’
