A TERRIFIED a shop worker was assaulted by a gang who raided a shop for beer.

Three men wearing hooded tops entered the Co-op, in Middle Park Way, Leigh Park, at 8.30pm.

While one tried to distract the staff member by asking for plasters the other two went into the alcohol aisle and started taking crates of beer.

When the member of staff realised what was happening she tried to stop them but was pushed against a shelf and held there so the men with the beer could get away.

Although the victim was uninjured she was left severely shaken.

Police have now released CCTV images of the men. The incident happened on Sunday, April 14.
