The assaults happened after staff refused to serve a man any more drinks.

Two members of the pub’s door staff, aged 25 and 27, were attacked and received facial injuries.

One was attacked by a man who punched him several times in the face, and the other by a woman who is believed to have been the man’s partner.

Neither victim was badly injured.

The man was described as white, 5ft 9ins tall, in his 30s, with a stocky build and short, cropped hair.

He was clean shaven and had a rounded face.

The women was described as white, in her late 30s, 5ft 8ins tall with blond hair.

She had straight, shoulder-length hair and wore a light brown winter coat.

Officers are asking for anyone with information to call Police Staff Investigator Robert Collier at Fratton police station on 101.
