THE chairman for Crimestoppers in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight has pledged to get more volunteers.

Speaking ahead of the Crimestoppers 25th anniversary conference next week, Roger Honey said how he would increase volunteer numbers by a quarter.

He said: ‘I am pledging to increase by 25 per cent the number of Crimestoppers volunteers across Hampshire and Isle of Wight.

‘If anyone is interested in joining our committee I can promise you will help make a difference.

‘I’ve been a volunteer for five years and even if my involvement had only helped one caller know there is a safe route to speak out and get one criminal off our streets I would still feel it was all worth it.’
