A COMMUNITY garden has received a £400 boost thanks to the police.

Sussex Police has donated the cash to Chichester Development Trust to fund new equipment for children using the garden.

A Trust spokesperson said: ‘This funding will help buy the equipment we need for our Wildlife Club at Graylingwell Park.

‘The club gives children the chance to learn how to grow their own, as well as learn about the wildlife and the environment and how it affects their lives.

‘It also keeps them busy in a healthy, safe environment and gives them ownership of their surroundings.’

The funding came from property confiscated by court orders and sold.

Police Community Support Officer Karen Turrell said: ‘We are delighted to support a worthy cause.’
