A PENSIONER fell victim to a conwoman pretending to collect sponsorship money.

The elderly victim, in her 70s, opened the door to her home, in Durnford Close, Chichester, at 11am on Saturday.

She was met by a woman purporting to be asking for sponsorship.

She then asked to use the toilet and it was not until she had left that the elderly woman realised £200 had been stolen.

Detective Constable Jon Berisford said: ‘Residents are advised to be on their guard to people asking to gain access to their homes in similar circumstances.’

The suspect is white, aged about 25, and 5ft 3in and of medium build, with straight black collar-length hair. She wore a black skirt and a jumper.
