A THIEF who has clocked up 221 convictions has been jailed for 17 days for his latest offence.

Andrew Bishop was arrested for stealing jars of coffee from the Co-op in Gregson Avenue, Gosport.

The 38-year-old was caught outside and the coffee was recovered.

Bishop, of Williams Close, Gosport, pleaded guilty to theft when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard he had 220 previous convictions, 130 of which are for theft offences.
