A COURT date has been set to remove dozens of travellers from public land.
There are now 37 caravans at the Fareham Borough Council-owned recreation ground on Mill Lane in Titchfield.
The council will go before the bench at Portsmouth County Court on Friday morning.
Councillor Sean Woodward, leader of the council, said: ‘The travellers have been served with notice of the court date.
‘Providing the judge gives us possession we will be removing them as soon as possible.
‘But hopefully they will have moved on of their own accord before then.’
The first caravans arrived on the site on Saturday evening.
