STATE-OF-THE-ART 3D crash-scene technology is due to be rolled out across Sussex.

Police hope that drivers will see shorter motorway closures after collisions thanks to a new system which uses lasers to scan the scenes of accidents.

Sussex is one of 27 counties set to receive £155,890 from the department for transport to pay for the technology and will start getting grants next month.

It is intended to save time by making a 3D image of the whole crash site, saving investigators from having to painstakingly survey multiple sections of the scene.
