POLICE have welcomed the jailing of a robbery gang who targeted an unsuspecting man at his home.

It comes as Tyrone Smith, 33, of Millers Pond Gardens, Southampton, Nathan Brown, 26, of Landguard Road, Southampton, Stewart Broughton, 50, of Ann’s Hill Road, Gosport, and Jessica Jenkins, 37, of Potters Avenue, and Wayne Dujon, 33, of Ransome Close, Fareham, were jailed for 35 years.

Detective Constable Neil Harrison said: ‘This incident was extremely distressing for the victim who was at home with his young children at the time. They witnessed the forced entry and assault on their father and these memories will stay with them.

Mobile phone work provided evidence to identify the offenders involved in the robbery.

‘Letters found by prison staff were key to identifying that Wayne Dujon was clearly making efforts to pervert the course of justice by contacting other defendants from prison to create a defence for them all during trial.

‘We are pleased that justice has been served and that the sentence demonstrates the severity of the crime.’
