POLICE have released an e-fit of a suspect after an 83-year-old man was burgled.

Two men, who claimed to be working at a neighbour’s property called at his home and said they had burst a gas pipe.

The offenders said they wanted to go into the man’s house, in Readon Close, Petersfield, to turn off a gas pipe. Once inside they looked around and took a wallet, cash and a gold locket.

One of the men, pictured in the e-fit, was described as aged in his late teens or early 20s, 5ft 10in to 6ft tall, and of slender to medium build. He wore a knitted sweater which was black on the shoulder, neck and cuffs and had horizontal blue and white stripes.

The burglary happened between 11.45am and 12.15pm on Saturday, September 10, although the e-fit has only just been released.
