POLICE now have the powers to move on groups of people who are causing trouble.

Bognor town centre has been plagued by anti-social behaviour and now Sussex Police, Arun District Council and British Transport Police have agreed a section 30 six-month dispersal order.

It will run from June 15 to December 15 this year, meaning police officers and PCSOs can insist groups of two or more people, who are causing significant and persistent anti-social behaviour, leave the area and not return for up to 24 hours.

Police will not necessarily disperse people in this area just because they are in a group, just those who are causing problems.
