THIEVES stole a collection of at least 15 Zippo lighters in a house burglary.

Crooks broke in through the front door of the home in Tunstall Road, Cosham.

They then fled with the lighters, seven bottles of wine and a £160 Seiko watch with a gold face.

The lighters included a Big Truck Zippo featuring an 18-wheeler American truck in a presentation tin, and a D-Day collection featuring four solid brass lighters with military leaders on.

The thieves also took a Zippo featuring a Spitfire during the break-in, which happened between 10pm on Monday, March 21, and 4.45pm the next day.

A police spokesman said: ‘We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the break-in or who may have been offered similar items for sale recently.’
