A MAN has been banned from the roads for more than a year after admitting drink-driving on a motorway.

Ian Clarke was stopped on the A3M while driving a Peugeot 206 on March 16.

A test revealed the 47-year-old, of Maple Crescent, Waterlooville, had 86 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, more than the 35mcg limit. He was disqualified from driving for 18 months by Portsmouth magistrates. He must pay a £350 fine, a £35 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
