A TEENAGER has appeared in court over a car crash in which a 16-year-old girl died.

Lewis Young, 19, who has no fixed address but is formerly of Havant, is accused of causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury to another by driving dangerously on a road, aggravated vehicle taking, driving without insurance, driving while disqualified and making off without payment.

Payton Sparks, 16, died in Petersfield Road in Havant on May 25.

Young appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court for a preliminary hearing. The case was adjourned until September 9 for a plea to be heard.
