A MAN was caught drink driving while more than twice the legal alcohol limit.

Darren North pleaded guilty to driving a Mitsubishi Pajero in Meonstoke after drinking too much on August 21.

A test revealed North’s breath contained 84 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres. The legal limit is 35mg.

Magistrates fined the 36-year-old £150.

North, of Warnford Road, Corhampton, was also ordered to pay £15 to a fund for crime victims.

He was banned from driving for 16 months.

The ban could be reduced by four months if North pays to complete a government-approved driving course by July 7 2012
