POLICE seized two cars without insurance and issued 38 fixed penalty notices during a road safety check in Southbourne.

On Tuesday, August 14 Sussex Police were joined by the Vehicle Operator Services Agency and Department of Work and Pensions for Operation Vanquish on the A259.

The penalty notices were issued to motorists who were driving while using a mobile phone, without wearing a seat belt or while having no car tax.

Sergeant Chris White, from Chichester’s police, said: ‘These operations prove to be effective and we will continue to disrupt this driver behaviour jointly with our partner agencies on a regular basis.’
