THE number of football-related arrests involving Pompey fans fell by more than 50 per cent last season .
In total the number of banning orders handed out to local supporters also declined, from 49 during the 2009/10 season to 32.
Up to November this year, just 22 Pompey fans were arrested - 16 at home games and six on away visits - compared to 45 in the previous year.
Nationally the number of people arrested for football-related disorder fell to a record low last season, according to figures released by the Government.
A total of 3,089 English and Welsh fans were arrested at international and domestic games in 2010/11, down 302 from the previous season - the lowest level since records began in 1984/5.
