A MAN has been fined for possessing cannabis.

Paul Smith, of Lawson Road, Southsea, pleaded guilty to having the class B drug on him in Southsea.

The 46-year-old was fined £100 when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

Smith was ordered to pay £20 into a fund for victims of crime.

Magistrates also made an order for the cannabis to be forfeited and destroyed under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

No order for costs was made.
