POLICE have issued an e-fit of a man they believe forced an elderly couple to hand over money.

As reported in The News, a man knocked at the door of an 89-year-old couple in Redlands Lane in Fareham.

He told them he was doing some work on a neighbour’s chimney stack and had also done some work to their guttering. He then asked for £140 for the work.

But the man refused to accept a cheque and drove the homeowner to a cashpoint where he withdrew the money.

The man was white, aged in his 40s, of a medium build, approximately 5ft 6in tall, and had a gap between his front teeth.

He was wearing a black coat and possibly driving a black vehicle.

The incident happened at around 10.30am on Tuesday, December 20.
