E-fit released following assault on 76-year-old dog walker in Portsmouth

POLICE have released an e-fit of a man in connection with an assault on a dog walker in Portsmouth.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who recognises the person or has any information that can help them identify him.

It comes as a pensioner was assaulted while walking her dog on Canal Walk, in Landport.

The 76-year-old was walking on February 15, at around 9am, when a man approached her and punched her in the stomach, winding her and causing her to drop to one knee.

He then walked off in the opposite direction.

The victim suffered bruising to her stomach but did not need hospital treatment.

The man is white, in his early 20s, around 6ft tall with short, mousey brown hair. He was wearing trousers and a grey coloured top.

Sgt Richard Holland said: ‘We would like to identify the person in the e-fit as they may have information to assist our enquiries.

‘If you recognise this man, or believe this to be you, then please call police immediately.’
