NATIONAL: Victims of fraud targeted by ‘follow-up’ scammers promising refunds

THIS e-fit has been released by police hunting a man after a woman’s purse was snatched.

Hampshire officers said the 29-year-old woman was walking in Stubbington Avenue, Copnor, Portsmouth, when a man tried to grab her handbag.

When he could not do so he grabbed her purse and the victim screamed as the man ran off.

He was 6ft 4in and slim.

He had broad shoulders and light-coloured stubble, and was said to look scruffy.

He wore a light-grey hoody, dark trousers and white shoes.

It happened ay 6.50am on Tuesday, September 24. Police released the e-fit yesterday.

A police statement said: ‘Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the incident or the man running off to contact them. They would also like to hear from anyone who thinks they know who the man is in the e-fit.’
