Robber chased by pub punters after threatening Co-op workers in Portsmouth

Have your say

THIS man is wanted by police after an 11-year-old girl was inappropriately touched on a train.

The victim, from Emsworth, was travelling between Havant and Southbourne stations when a man who was already on the train when she boarded moved to sit across the aisle from her.

He then started speaking to her before asking to see her shoes, reaching forward and touching her inappropriately on the foot.

The victim left the train at Southbourne station where she was met by her sister.

Now police have released this CCTV of the suspect wanted in connection with the incident – which happened at about 6.20pm on March 26.

Detective Constable Phil Bibbings from the British Transport Police, who is investigating, said: ‘From our investigations so far, we believe the man has connections with the Kew area of south west London and it is also possible that he is connected to Portsmouth.

‘Whilst this sort of incident is rare on the railway network, I am treating it very seriously. We’ve made numerous local enquiries as part of our investigation and have followed a number of leads to try and trace the man responsible, but to no avail so far.

‘If you are the man, or think you know who he is, I urge you to come forward.’
