MAGISTRATES jailed a man for three months after he stole a car when he was over the drink-drive limit.

Matthew Perry, 23, was caught in Tennyson Crescent, Waterlooville, after taking the Ford Focus.

A breathalyser test showed he had 86 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrammes.

Perry, of Greville Green, Emsworth, pleaded guilty to taking a car without consent, drink-driving and driving without insurance.

He was banned from driving for a year by Portsmouth magistrates.
