THE issue of domestic abuse will be raised with shoppers this week.

On Friday the Fareham and Gosport Domestic Abuse Forum will be holding events in Fareham Shopping Centre and Gosport High Street, between 11am and 3pm.

The aim is to raise awareness of domestic abuse and how to report it.

Chairman of the Fareham and Gosport Domestic Abuse Forum, Kay Mandry, said: ‘Fareham is an area that is generally low in crime thanks to the excellent work of the community safety partners; however domestic abuse is hugely under-reported.

‘This is the first time Fareham will hold a domestic abuse awareness event to show how easy it can be reported.’

The Fareham event will take place outside The Body Shop in Fareham Shopping Centre and the Precinct Podium area in West Street.

Gosport’s event will be the town hall.
