REGIONAL: CCTV captures road rage driver smashing his Merecedes into a motorbike

  • Nitin Woocheet spent Thursday evening celebrating St Patrick’s Day at the Fawcett Inn pub, Southsea
  • He was last seen saying goodbye to friends just after midnight
  • He has not been seen or heard from since
  • Has never gone missing before

The sister of an engineer not seen since Thursday night has made a desperate plea to find him.

Nitin Woocheet, 26, left the Fawcett Inn pub, in Southsea, at 11pm after celebrating St Patrick’s Day with friends.

He said goodbye to his friends but they all went separate ways home. This is just not him. Something has happened. He did not go back to his house that night. We know he didn’t.

He did not answer his phone the following morning and did not arrive at his parents’ house, in London, as usual on Friday afternoon.

His family were so concerned they travelled down to his home in Glasgow Road, Milton, and believe he never returned there on Thursday night.

Karishma, his 28-year-old sister, said: ‘I talk to my brother every single day and I spoke to him just before he went out on Thursday.

‘He was happy and I told him to have a good time before I put the phone down.

‘He didn’t answer his phone the next day which is very unusual.

‘He did not turn up at my parents’ which he would never, ever miss.

‘It is extremely out of character for him to go missing.

‘He said goodbye to his friends but they all went separate ways home.

‘This is just not him. Something has happened. He did not go back to his house that night. We know he didn’t.’

She added: ‘Nitin, we love you and need you to come back.’

Mr Woocheet’s family have put up posters across the city and spent the weekend walking the streets looking for him.

Detective Inspector Adam Price said: ‘I would also appeal to anyone who knows where Nitin is to please get in touch and let us know that he is okay.

‘There are a lot of people who are concerned for his welfare and we just need to make sure that he is safe and well. I would like to thank members of the public who have shared our appeal so far on social media sites.

‘I would ask that they continue to help spread the word and to call us if they have any information which might help our investigation.’

Mr Woocheet, who is single and works at Airbus, is Asian, 5ft 7ins, with brown eyes.

He was wearing a dark blue Superdry polo shirt with a white and purple stripe on the collar and arms.

Officers are appealing for anyone who has seen a man matching this description or who has any information on where he is to contact police as soon as possible.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting 44160109293 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
